About Us

Smart Treat is a small, homegrown company that has been baking healthy, delicious breads and snacks since 1994.  ALL of our items are gluten free and dairy free.   MOST of our items are also vegan and nut free.  We are dedicated to bringing quality alternative snack foods to the health conscious public.

We do not have an industrial production line, and there is no commercial automation.   Each item is carefully prepared in small batches by Brian, our Master Baker.  Brian, a chef by trade, channels his creativity and energy into producing fresh, wholesome baked goods.  Producing artisan quality breads and snacks is his goal. 

We do not have a corporate research and development department -- instead, we have Bonnie.  Bonnie tinkers with our new product recipes in her home kitchen before Brian tries them out in the bakery.  Feel free to email Bonnie with your new product ideas!   CustomerService@smarttreat.com

We understand allergens, and the vital importance of avoiding cross contamination.  While our whole bakery is dedicated gluten free, we do use tree nuts and peanuts in a very limited number of items.  We have stringent procedures in place to keep these allergens separate, and we take great care to avoid cross contamination.  If you would like more details, please email Bonnie.  CustomerService@smarttreat.com

We understand value.  Let's face it -- allergen free items are expensive.  Whether you're dealing with Celiac, Autism or other special needs in your family, the cost of purchasing these items (versus making them yourself) is always a factor.  Our Signature 24 oz Loaf of bread is the biggest and best allergen free loaf we've ever seen.  Please be sure to compare ours to the price, size, and flavor of the bread you normally buy.

We understand quality.  The only ingredients we put into our breads and snacks are ones that we want to feed our own families -- no mysterious chemicals.  Whenever possible, we use organic ingredients.  Please be sure to check out ingredient labels.
